A collage is defined as "a form of art in which various materials such as photographs and pieces of paper or fabric are arranged and stuck to a backing." (Google Definitions)
Canadians are like a collage for many reasons; we all have different places that we come from, we are all different, but most importantly we have all come together to form one of the greatest countries in the world.
I find a lot of Canada’s history concerning racism is overlooked and ignored today, but it shouldn’t be. The fact that parents and schools overlook our history and don’t teach the specifics, I think reflect the same reasons why there are still young adults who feel it is okay to have racist views, and act upon them. Although the majority of the Canadian population today isn’t racist, there is still that small percentage that is, and because of that many people suffer. I feel like Canada’s racist past needs to be taught more frequently and severely so that we do not repeat our mistakes.
